The mission of St. Edmund’s Retreat is to proclaim in word and deed the Gospel of Jesus Christ in light of the Catholic faith. St Edmund’s Retreat seeks to fulfill this mission by providing for the ministerial formation of priests, religious and laity; by offering retreats, spiritual development and education programs for lay men and women, religious sisters and brothers, and priestsp; and by providing other programs and services that answer the call for evangelization of the church and the world.

Biography

St. Peter’s Elementary School was founded by the Sisters of Mercy in 1878. Since its foundation, St. Peter’s continues to serve all economic levels of the community providing a rich academic curriculum. Through our partnership with parents, whom we recognize as the primary educators of their children, we offer a strong Catholic education. St Thomas Aquinas Tutorial (‘STAT”) is a Catholic home schooling tutorial program meeting twice weekly which provides excellent academic instruction for grades two through eight using the Mother of Divine Grace Curriculum. STAT supports the moral, intellectual, physical and spiritual formation begun in the homes of Catholic homeschooling families. Established in 2011 in Anne Arundel County, Maryland.

The St. Anselm Institute for Catholic Thought is a faculty-led Catholic educational nonprofit founded in
2000 and registered in the Diocese of Richmond, VA. The Institute’s mission is to make the Catholic
intellectual tradition accessible and available to university students, faculty and others within and
beyond the University of Virginia community. The Institute hosts a popular public lecture series, a
variety of faculty-led reading groups and seminars, and a new set of noncredit Catholic Ideas
minicourses. All of our programs are free and open to all with an interest. The Institute does not receive
funding from the Diocese or the University of Virginia. Instead, our free Catholic educational programs
rely upon the good will of many and the annual charitable gifts of those who believe the “light of Christ”
in the Catholic intellectual tradition should shine bright to all within and around secular university
environments.

To realize our mission, SCR offers different housing focuses, each targeting women with different life issues: a) Transitional or Permanent housing for women who are starting out or starting over, b) Right Start/Independent Living for either single mothers or 17-year-olds aging out of foster care and c) Next Step for homeless women in recovery or with a chronic behavioral health diagnosis. The requirements for residence are a) be involved in work, a day program or education for 20 hours each week, b) respect for self and each other and c) an ability to pay rent which is subsidized through donations. Our services go beyond providing safe and affordable housing and include building self-concepts through skill building, linking to employment and school and integrating women into a women helping women community for networking, friendship and support.

St. Dominic Village is Houston’s only Catholic continuing-care retirement community, and one of the few retirement homes for priests in Texas.
