Biography
The Shalom Prayer Center, a ministry of Queen of Angels Monastery, is rooted in the tradition of Benedictine spirituality. The Center provides a peaceful environment where men and women of all faiths and cultural traditions are welcome to seek wholeness and deepen their relationship with God. Shalom, the Hebrew word meaning peace, inspires our mission which is the fostering of well-being in daily life and harmony with nature and themselves.
Sheil Catholic Center at Northwestern University
Biography
The Sheil Catholic Center is a faith community of students, faculty, staff, and associates who together offer a welcoming place for worship, celebration of sacraments, and pastoral care. We promote educational and spiritual growth; and provide opportunities for service and leadership within the academic setting.
Our mission is to transform society by renewing our faith and inviting others to know Christ. The Center aspires to be a place where students, as they acquire knowledge and cultivate reason, can also mature in their Catholic Faith. Sheil ascribes to the doctrine espoused by Cardinal Newman in The Idea of a University, where he advocated for a more meaningful relationship between Christian Theology and academics.

Shrine of Christ the King Sovereign Priest
Biography
As an apostolate of the Institute of Christ the King, the mission of the Shrine of Christ the King Sovereign Priest is to be a center from which the millennial spiritual and cultural wealth of the treasury of the Catholic Church may radiate to souls, Catholic and non-Catholic. Offering the traditional Latin Liturgy just south of the University of Chicago, to be a venue at which much of the architectural, musical, and artistic patrimony of Western society can be experienced in its proper context. As a historic landmark in the heart of an upcoming neighborhood of Chicago, to be a contributing factor, through its restoration and activities, to the revitalization of the community. As a spiritual Shrine in a major diocese of the United States, to be a national and international center of devotion to Christ the King from where His gentle rule over hearts and over society is to be taught and fostered.
Sisters Academy of Baltimore
Biography
Sisters Academy of Baltimore, a Catholic community-centered middle school, educates girls of different races, ethnic groups, and religions, from families of limited economic means, particularly those in southwest Baltimore. The Academy empowers its students to become agents of transformation in their families, communities, and society. The goal of Sisters Academy is to enable young women to realize their full potential and break the cycle of poverty. To accomplish this, we educate girls (ages 10 to 13) who have the desire to succeed but would not otherwise have access to an excellent middle school education. Sisters Academy does not charge tuition. Every student is on a scholarship.
Sisters Oblates to the Blessed Trinity
Biography
The Oblates to the Blessed Trinity is a religious community of women who have consecrated their lives to the Blessed Trinity. For over four decades, we have devoted our lives to the service of others- in Dutchess County, NY, the Bronx, Wisconsin, Puerto Rico and El Salvador. We teach young children and prepare them for the sacraments. Our sisters also give aid to the poor and elderly in our communities. Now, we are excited about our new mission to provide assisted living facilities to elderly sisters of all orders.
In 2001, we built Emmanuel Clinic in a mountainous region of El Salvador. The clinic is the only source of health care for thousands of God’s poor. Doctor visits from the U.S. help with more serious health problems, but take place infrequently. That’s why we are excited about our plan to enlarge our clinic and add space for doctors to reside for longer periods of time.

The Sisters of Christian Charity’s mission is to give witness to Christ through a consecrated life lived in community. As an active apostolic congregation, the Sisters embrace the mission entrusted to them by Christ: to go out to all the world and bring the good news of love, justice and peace. The Sisters accomplish this mission through ministry work in schools, parishes, hospitals, retreat centers and anywhere else the need arises.

Sisters of Saints Cyril and Methodius

Strengthened by our legacy of faith in God, impelled by the Gospel and sustained by consecrated life in community, we, the Sisters of Saints Cyril and Methodius, freely respond to the Spirit active in the Church in our service to God and the human family.

Biography
Mission: The Sisters of St. Joseph believe in the power and presence of a loving God active in our world, for all time, and in this time. United with all who minister with us, we seek to bring God’s healing and reconciling love where there is the greatest need. The Sisters of St. Joseph have a tradition of ministering wherever they are most needed. They nurture the spiritual and physical needs of many through parish and social outreach programs.
They are educators from elementary to the university level, social workers, health care professionals, lawyers, medical doctors, parish ministers, administrators and spiritual directors.

Biography
The Sisters of St. Benedict of St. Placid Priory are monastic women who seek God in community. Through corporate ministries, the Sisters reflect and extend the Benedictine values of peace, community, hospitality, learning and prayerful discernment. The Conference Center is a place of peace offering hospitality to nonprofit groups for their off-site retreats, meetings, and workshops. The Priory Store makes accessible religious goods and books necessary for evangelization and spiritual enrichment. The Priory Spirituality Center is a house of prayer and retreat center, a Christ-centered holy space for those who seek God. As Benedictine monastic women, the Sisters commit themselves to continuous conversion of life, stability of heart, and steadfast relationship with God and each other that they may be formed by the Spirit and shaped by the Gospel. Faithful to the Benedictine way of life, the Sisters strive to prefer nothing to Christ as they welcome others in hospitality and peace.

We, Sisters of Saint Dominic of Caldwell, are a community of vowed women religious responding to God’s call and united in our quest for the unfolding revelation of God. Sisters of St. Francis of the Neumann Communities
Biography
The Sisters of St Francis of the Neumann Communities is a congregation of women religious comprised of 500 Catholic sisters who serve in the ministries of education, healthcare, pastoral care, mission work, social services, retreat work and prayer in three countries and 15 U.S. states/territories. For more than 150 years, the mission of the Sisters of St Francis of the Neumann Communities has remained the same: to serve the poor and vulnerable. Each day we strive to live out our directional statement: Rooted in the Gospel and energized by the spirit of St. Francis and St. Clare, we seek to be women of vision living in right relationship with God, one another and all creation.
Their 150 year legacy of service includes:
Educating
- The sisters have founded, and continue to administer and teach in more than 350 Catholic preschools, elementary and high schools, educating more than five million students.
- More than 12,000 nurses have been trained at nursing schools founded and administered by the Sisters of St. Francis.
Caring
- Tens of millions of sick and aged have been/are cared for in hospitals, health care and adult-care facilities founded by the Sisters of St. Francis.
- More than 145,000 children have been cared for in day care centers and former orphanages founded and administered by the Sisters of St. Francis.
Advocating
- Sisters serving at missions in Brazil, Puerto Rico, Venezuela, Peru, Mexico, Nigeria and Kenya have provided food, shelter, education and prayer to the poorest of the poor. Sisters continue to minister in Kenya, Peru and Puerto Rico.
Praying
- Presently, 500 sisters spend countless hours a week in adoration offering prayers of praise and petition to God for the intentions of friends, donors and sisters in the community.
- Three spiritual retreat centers in New York and Pennsylvania have served tens of thousands of people for a combined 100 years.
- Sisters have served at hundreds of parishes across the country and around the world.
Leaving a Legacy
- A special example of the Sisters of St. Francis’ unwavering service to those most vulnerable is our own Saint Marianne Cope. From 1883 until her death in 1918 she cared for the Hawaiian Islands’ sick poor, especially the victims of leprosy. A Sister of St. Francis, she was declared Blessed in 2005 and will be canonized a saint in 2012. Her pending canonization will make her one of only 12 saints in U.S. history.
- With 22 sponsored ministries, the sisters will continue to have a presence in communities for generations to come.

Called by God and passionate for the mission of Jesus, the Sisters of St. Joseph come together to serve all persons. With a distinctive spirit of hospitality and a particular concern for the poor, we witness to the Gospel by being a unifying and reconciling presence to a world in need.
