Sailed in the U. S. Merchant Marine for three years before taking a job at Parkway Hospital in Queens, N. Y., as Chief Engineer, also worked as Assistant Chief Engineer at B. Started with the University of Maryland Baltimore as Director of Maintenance and Operations in 1984 and retired in 2017 as Associate Vice president of Facilities and Operations.

Married to Mary Ann Rowan since 1970. We have three children and five grandchildren all of whom are being educated in Catholic schools. We are life-long Catholics and are parishioners at St. Mary’s Church in Annapolis where our children attended high school. I was a member of the School Board and have chaired the Facilities Committee at St. Mary’s since 2002. In addition, I have served on the Building and Grounds Committee for Catholic Charities in Baltimore and participated in an Archdiocesan strategic planning committee that recommended the construction of a new Catholic school in Gambrills, The School of the Incarnation.
