Councils

Our Councils

Supporting the Board of Trustees are five Councils on which individuals, Catholic and non-Catholic, serve:

Investment Council
The Investment Council is responsible for overseeing NCCF’s investment portfolios (See Investments).
Network Council

The Network Council is responsible for expanding the NCCF community.

Communications Council

The Communications Council is responsible for promoting awareness of NCCF and its services through the use of various media.

Grants Council
The Grants Council, responsible for reviewing distribution requests from our donors.
Church Affairs Council

The Church Affairs Council is responsible for ensuring the distribution requests are not inconsistent with Church teaching.

Investment Council

Purpose:
  • Oversee and recommend to the Board investment options.
  • Advise trustees about policies and monitor standards.
  • Review and make recommendations about donors’ suggested investment options.
  • Ensure fulfillment of audit requirements.

Network Council

Purpose:
  • Develop a sense of community of NCCF among local donors, charitable organizations and individuals associated with NCCF.
  • Supply link between NCCF’s council and donors.
  • Get people involved and spread the word about philanthropy.

Communications Council

Purpose:
  • Resource to advise the Board on communication issues
  • Help spread philanthropy through all forms of communication

Grants Council

Purpose:
  • Individuals who advise the Board on grant distribution and future donors on areas  or projects to donate their funds
  • Members may be focused on area of interest or field of interest
Currently the Board of Trustees oversee all grant recommendations

 

Church Affairs Council

The purpose of the Church Affairs Council is twofold:
  • In cases where the NCCF trustees are unable to agree, to decide on whether or not a distribution request from a donor contravenes the teachings of the Catholic Church.
  • When no donor intent exists, to inform the NCCF trustees of the funding priorities of the U.S. Conference of Bishops.
  • Identify the priorities of the Church in the US
