Biography

The Sisters of Mary and World Villages for Children focus on the objectives of reducing child poverty, improving health, educational attainment, and progress into employment by providing truly Catholic residential care to over 22,000 children each year.  Our work facilitates grass roots change in poverty levels within the local communities.  The Sisters of Mary consist of more than 370 Sisters who operate programs in the Philippines, South Korea, Mexico, Guatemala, Brazil, Honduras, and Tanzania.  In each country, the Sisters work to not only give children a safe roof over their heads, food, and education, but also prepare them in their culture and environment for a better future in their own country.  In addition to taking care of more than 22,000 poor children each year, the Sisters also maintain homes, hospitals, schools, and vocational training programs.

The World Youth Alliance is a global coalition of young people committed to promoting the dignity of the person and building solidarity among youth from developed and developing nations. We train young people to work at the regional and international levels to impact policy and culture. Through this lived experience of the dignity of the person young people are able to affirm life at all levels of society.

Our mission is to proclaim the value of marriage and Holy Orders in the Church and in the world. At WWME, we do this by delivering life-giving experiences for married couples and priests.

Strengthening and building upon the foundation of marriage, supporting priests in this pastoral work and contributing to a resilient and vibrant community is the focus of programming within WWME.
