Biography

The Black and Indian Mission established in 1884 serves Black, Indian, Eskimo and Aleute communities with evangelization and supervises the only annual collection mandated by the third plenary council. The funds collected annually are distributed as diocesan grants and have been responsible for continuing the Church’s faithful in supporting the evangelization needs of the Black and Native American communities in the United States.
