The University of Mary is a private, Christian, Catholic, Benedictine university that welcomes students of all faiths and backgrounds. Infusing Benedictine values throughout the educational experience, Mary offers distinguished, professionally focused academic programs enlivened by the liberal arts, global and civic service, robust internships, and mentoring by respected faculty.
As one of the most affordable private universities in the nation, Mary offers exceptional educational value as well as outstanding scholarship and financial aid opportunities.
When the Benedictine Sisters of the Annunciation founded what is today North Dakota’s only Catholic university, they placed their college under the patronage of Mary, the Mother of God. The Sisters’ hope was that generations of students would find inspiration in the beautiful wisdom and courage of the maiden from Nazareth.
The University of Mary integrates the Benedictine values of service, hospitality, moderation, prayer, respect for persons, and community throughout its curriculum and student life programs so students graduate with the capacity to live joyful, meaningful lives. The university is faithfully Christian, joyfully Catholic, and gratefully Benedictine.
