Inasmuch as this is the last article before Christmas and before the end of the year, it is ‘right and just’ to take this opportunity to acknowledge the generosity and commitment of all those responsible for the ongoing success of NCCF and its ministry of philanthropy.
The number of those involved continues to grow and, like St. Paul’s image of the body of the Church (1 Cor: 12), includes a variety of members each of whom contributes to the advance of the Kingdom in a special way.
Foremost among these are our trustees who meet monthly to act on the distribution requests and assure that our decisions are consonant with the Catholic faith. Their work is facilitated by the indispensable supervision of our Comptroller who keeps us in good stead with the government. Without the work of our web manager we would be severely handicapped. Of course, it is the donors from across the United States who establish the funds from which the distributions are made who are responsible for our lifeblood. In addition to these individual donors and their families, we partner with more than three dozen charitable organizations who use our charitable gift annuity services. Perhaps most deserving of our appreciation are the countless recipient organizations, both in the United States and around the world, who – in accepting their donations – enable our donors to be ongoing ‘ministers of philanthropy’.
NCCF now enters its twenty-ninth year. As measured in dollars and geographic outreach, each year it grows. In 2025 our trustees approved distributions totaling $3,450,000. This brings the total distributed since our inception in 1997 to $37 million and these grants have been made throughout the United States and to twenty-four other countries.
There is much for which we at NCCF are grateful. Thank you to all involved and, on behalf of our trustees, we wish you a happy Christmas and a new year in which blessings abound.
