Biography
Opening Doors offers hospitality to women, alone or with children, who are in need of emergency transitional housing and related support services. In collaboration with existing community resources and services, the vision or Opening Doors is to offer a variety of opportunities for women to affirm their dignity and to achieve their potential for independent living in an environment that will benefit the neighborhood. Services such as job training, homemaking, financial planning, and parenting skills are offered. While the women in the program, they are expected to set developmental goals for themselves and work with staff to achieve them. Staff is available 24 hours per day. No rent is charged and, depending on the situation, residents could stay one night or up to 6 months.
