National Catholic Community Foundation can be of help to organizations that:
  • Desire cost-effective and independent fund management
  • Desire funds to endow their long-term future
  • Want to collaborate with other organizations or congregations on specific or field-of-interest projects and need administrative resources to oversee wise use of the funds
  • Want to maximize leverage and return on investment

Smaller organizations need and deserve long term funding stability, but limitations of staff and investment management expertise may restrict their ability to develop this vital financial resource.

NCCF recognizes the obstacles that smaller charitable organizations face in gaining access to the financial benefits offered by an endowment. By establishing a fund with NCCF smaller organizations benefit from NCCF’s management expertise.

NCCF’s professional investment activities help non-profit organizations achieve their long-term goals by helping them preserve significant amounts of capital, attract more and larger donations and increase principal and income.

With these services at NCCF an organization will obtain all the benefits of an endowment, plus other advantages of association with NCCF.

Organizations may set up an annuity program for their benefit.

Non-profit organizations may use NCCF to help their donors establish gift annuities to benefit their organizations. NCCF assists charities in presenting its charitable gift annuity option to their constituents. When the annuitant of a charitable gift annuity dies, the residuary amount in the annuity passes to a donor advised fund created for the donor-selected charity. Organizations who utilize this service enjoy the benefits charitable gift annuities offer and do so without having to incur the liability and administrative costs of having their own gift annuity program.

Organizations interested in NCCF’s charitable gift annuity program should know the following facts:

  • NCCF has been in existence since 1997
  • NCCF is registered to administer gift annuities in all the states in the United States except Hawaii. (It meets the unique legal requirements of each state)
  • NCCF assumes all the liability and risk associated with a gift annuity  program
  • Organizations using the NCCF gift annuity program incur no cost of liability
  • NCCF is responsible for all the administrative work such as payment disbursements and tax statements to annuitants
  • The annuities are guaranteed by the assets of NCCF
  • NCCF’s minimum annuity is $10,000. If the annuitant purchases an additional annuity the starting value can be $5,000
  • The age requirement is 50 for a deferred annuity and 60 for an immediate annuity.
  • As of the end of 2024 thirty-five organizations across the United States were using NCCF’s charitable gift annuity program (see ‘Partners’ under Funds and Grants).
