Family Honor, Inc.

Providing a Catholic framework on the truth and meaning of sexuality, love, and family.

Family Honor, Inc., a non-profit organization, was created in 1988 in South Carolina in order to provide a Catholic framework on the truth and meaning of sexuality, love, and family. The organization was formed by parents for parents who want something better for their children other than the negative messages regarding sex that ‘popular culture’ promotes. Family Honor recognizes parents as the primary educators of their children in matters of faith, virtue and morality, but we also realize parents need encouragement and resources to carry out the responsibilities entrusted to them in these tender areas.

Thus, at a time when the truth about God’s gift of sexuality is needed more than ever, Family Honor, Inc. is serving moms, dads, children, and others in the following ways:

1.         Family-Centered Chastity Programs

Family Honor presents in-person parent-only and parent-teen programs that are multi-session and age-appropriate, to provide a unique and rare opportunity for parents and their adolescents to come together and communicate about life issues, chastity, and God’s gift of sexuality. Programs are held either in the evening or on the weekend so parents and their teen can attend together, learning a ‘common language’ to talk about important topics as a family. Webinar formats are also available. In addition, we have also begun to offer programs in Spanish. The most common comment we hear from parents? “If only you had been around when I was growing up, I probably would have made some different choices.” And, as another parent said to us: “You opened a door between me and my daughter that I didn’t even know was closed.”

2.         Continuing Education Courses

Family Honor has online and in-person continuing education and training opportunities for parents, ministry leaders, and other interested adults. Currently, we offer two options for continuing ed:

Be Not Afraid– a half day seminar that features talks on: The Father and Mother of Sexual Chaos and the Pornography Connection; Understanding the Push for Gender Surrender; and Compassion Through Christ: How to Find Hope and Healing.

Understanding the Human Person – a more in-depth course, presented on a weekend. Subjects include Intro to Theology of the Body; Fertility Appreciation; Child Development and the Role of Parents; Understanding Same Sex Attraction and Gender Dysphoria; Consequences of Ungodly Sexual Behavior; and more. This weekend course is the first step in professional preparation of men and women to present our Family Honor parent-child programs; they can also be used as continuing education for parish and ministry leadership as well.

3.         Educational Resources

Family Honor develops and markets a variety of resources designed to encourage and equip parents and ministry leaders with information about chastity, virtue, parenting and related issues. This includes books, booklets, CD-Roms and web-based educational information. These resources are used in our programs, and some are available in Spanish.

Family Honor is faithful to the Magisterium of the Catholic Church; our organization’s programs and courses are grounded in Sacred Scripture and Tradition, with emphasis on the philosophy and teaching found in Humanae Vitae, Familiaris Consortio, Deus Caritas Est, and The Theology of the Body.  For more information, visit our website at www.FamilyHonor.org or contact Family Honor at: info@familyhonor.org or 803.929.0858.

Family Honor presents family-centered programs that focus on helping parents and children
speak to each other about chastity and God’s gift of sexuality. Pictured is a parent group who
attended our first Spanish-language program, Leading & Loving, held in 2021, for moms and
dads of younger children. (No children attend, although we had a sweet baby with her mom!)
